Details of newest model Deger Pipes II

The new model sounds like the previous model (from several years ago)
but the controls are slightly different (easier to use)
The Deger pipe has a very realistic sound compared to an acoustic highland pipe or smallpipe.

Key Features:
-Same size and finger spacing as a long practice chanter.
-Built in Metronome with both a tone click and flashing LED, when needed.
-Dual output: PHONES and MIDI!
-Headphones and MIDI devices can directly connect to the Deger Pipes Chanter.
(it comes with earplug type of headphones, not the large ones in photo).
-It's also possible to connect the phones output to an amplifier or a stereo.
-The chanter contains all electronic components as well as the battery.
-It is recommended to use rechargeable batteries instead of an AC adaptor, since the Chanter has a very low power
consumption, the output voltage of the adaptors can be much higher than the nominal value.
Do NOT use AC adaptors or battery eliminators, as it can damage the electronics of this instrument, and will void the warrranty.
-Driven by 2 AAA alkaline batteries (included). Can also use rechargeable AAA batteries (not included).
-60 to 100 hours of playing using alkaline batteries (depending on the connected equipment.
-No external box or additional equipment is needed.
-Authentic Bagpipe sound including drones generated by wavetable sound synthesis.

Now there are Five Sounds instead of two as the manual says. Each sound has own key and drones settings.
The sounds are:
1. GHB
2. Medieval Pipes (best sounding at a key of G or A)
3. Gaita (best sounding at a key of C)
4. Small Pipes
5. Small Pipes soft

The baritone drone can be activated by pressing and holding DRONES and use
the SOUND button to step between normal, fifth or forth and back to normal.The LED blinks to show where you are. There is no need to wait. The blinking always starts again if something is changed.
The Jig "The Curlew" sounds very nice if the drones are switched to "fourth" for example.

-Perfectly tuned chanter scale and drones by usage of crystal oscillator and microprocessor control.
-The Pitch is adjustable in a range of more than two octaves for both the Highland and Smallpipe sounds. This enables you to play together with other instruments in any key, and you can choose to change pitch to standard keys either in set increments on key or variable, in between keys.
-The drones volume is variable and can be regulated by a volume switch or you can toggle on and off a baritone drone (a musical fifth drone).
-Through MIDI output every MIDI compatible tone generator or other MIDI equipment can be used
(for example PC with notation program).  In Highland Pipe mode the MIDI sends out pitch bend data to create the normal, Five Mean Tone Just Temperament(close to, Pythagorean scale) found on all bagpipes.  In Small Pipe mode the MIDI sends out a Well Tempered scale which may work better when playing with other Well Tempered instruments.
-There are Three fingering modes:
1. Minimal (standard notes, no special effects, more like whistle fingering, one note after another and one finger taken off after another going up the chanter).
2. Standard - starts with the normal pipe fingering(allowing natual e, natual f and vibrato).
3. Extended (fully chromatic - All semitones, extended pitch range and vibrato).
An extended chromatic scale is available allowing you to play tunes which are not playable on the real pipe chanter.
-Power-save mode, after a period of no activity.
-Has One Year Warranty from Manfred Deger.

-To hook it up to a stereo or amplifier:  what you need to do is visit Radio Shack (or other electronics store) and ask for a 'dual RCA to 1/8" stereo adapter.' 
You can then plug an RCA cable that comes out of the back of your stereo or amplifier into your Deger Pipe headphone jack with this adaptor.
